YBBP Flameproof VFD Motors

The YBBP series of flameproof variable-frequency three-phase induction motors covers 0.18–315 kW in 2- to 10-pole versions, frame sizes 80–355, with Ex marking Ex d I Mb / Ex d IIA T4 Gb / Ex d IIB T4 Gb / Ex d IIC T4 Gb. On a VFD they provide stepless speed control with constant torque at (3)5–50 Hz and constant power at 50–100 Hz or 50–60 Hz, cooled by an independent axial-flow fan. The tables below list all 109 standard models; open a model for mounting dimensions.

Overview

The YBBP series was developed by Shangli from the YB3 series using current electromagnetic design, processes and materials. Paired with a frequency converter, the motor gives smooth stepless speed control over a wide range: constant torque from 5 to 50 Hz and constant power from 50 to 100 Hz. An independent axial-flow fan keeps cooling effective at every speed.

Outputs and mounting dimensions follow IEC standards and the corresponding German DIN standard, which helps with export equipment and spare parts for imported machinery. Motor and drive together form an energy-saving speed-control system with good speed performance, a wide speed range and low noise and vibration, and the motor works with drives from Chinese and international brands for energy saving and automatic control.

Ex marking and areas of use

Explosion protection complies with GB 3836.1-2010 and GB 3836.2-2010 and the provisions of IEC 60079-1, BS 4683 and EN 50018
Ex d I Mb: non-excavation areas of coal mines with methane; “high” protection level, not an ignition source in normal operation or expected faults
Ex d IIA T4 Gb, Ex d IIB T4 Gb: explosive gas atmospheres other than coal mines, such as petroleum and chemical plants; “high” protection level
Ex d IIC T4 Gb: plants where hydrogen, acetylene or similar explosive gas mixtures are present

Speed range

Constant torque: (3)5–50 Hz (5 Hz as standard, 3 Hz on request)
Constant power: 50–100 Hz for 2-pole frames 80–225 and 4-pole frames 80–355S; 50–60 Hz for all other ratings
