Outputs, mounting arrangements and mounting dimensions are the same as the YB3 series; feet, shaft extension and flange match YBX3 and YBX4 flameproof motors of the same frame size. The terminal box differs from the flameproof version, so overall dimensions are confirmed on the approval drawing.

Selection notes
- DIP A is the dust-protected type and DIP B the dust-tight type, in temperature classes T1–T4. Choose according to the type of dust, zone classification and minimum ignition temperature at site, and state these in your enquiry.
- For plants with combustible dust such as flour, feed, sugar, grain processing, pharmaceuticals, plastic powder, coal powder and metal powder. For underground coal mines choose a flameproof motor.
- Enclosure IP65, cooling IC411. Where explosive gas and dust are both present, choose a flameproof and dust ignition-proof version and state this in your enquiry.
- Outputs in brackets are non-preferred ratings. For higher efficiency choose YFBX4 on the same frame.

What is the difference between the YFBX3-280M and a flameproof motor?
A dust ignition-proof motor keeps dust out of the enclosure and limits surface temperature, for combustible dust areas. A flameproof motor has an enclosure that withstands an internal explosion, for explosive gas areas. Both have the same outputs and mounting dimensions; the terminal box design differs.
What is the Ex marking of the
